How to Enjoy the Festival to the Fullest - Key Programs and Schedule

The Ssoksokdeuri Festival welcomes audiences with diverse programs each year. Checking the schedule for programs that vary by season in advance will allow for an even richer experience.

1. Regular Indoor Performances: A Special Stage Every Month

On the second and fourth Saturdays of every month at 2 PM, high-quality indoor performances by various performing groups are held at the 'Ssok' Experience Theater within the National Theater of Korea's Stage Arts Support Center. Audiences can look forward to performances across various genres, including Pansori (traditional Korean narrative singing), dance, classical music, and concerts. Performances typically run for about 60 minutes, making them easy to enjoy. The 'Ssok' Experience Theater has 110 regular seats on the first floor. If a popular performance sells out the first-floor seats, don't be too disappointed! For those who wish to attend, we can additionally guide you to aisle seats (10 seats) or second-floor standing room (80 seats).

2. 'Backstage World' Experience

The Ssoksokdeuri Festival features a special experiential program called 'Backstage World.' As the name suggests, it's an opportunity to thoroughly explore the hidden world behind the stage. After the performance, you can vividly learn how a show is created with stage art professionals and directly tour the backstage areas that are usually off-limits. Upon successful completion of the experience, you'll receive a fantastic 'I'm a Stage Art Professional Appointment Certificate.' The Backstage World experience is available with each indoor performance. However, participation is limited to the first 20 people.

3. Permanent Exhibitions and Center Tours

Even when the Ssoksokdeuri Festival isn't running, the National Theater of Korea's Stage Arts Support Center is always open! From Tuesday to Sunday, 10 AM to 6 PM, wonderful free exhibitions and center tour programs are continuously offered. Anyone interested in performing arts is welcome, so feel free to visit anytime and enjoy the various sights and experiences.
