Olive Young Daily Must-Haves|K-Beauty Daily Hair Care Essentials - Hair Care

The series of recommended items that started with “Let's organize them” during Olive Young sales is already nearing a month, haha. Going through skincare, makeup, and body products one by one took longer than expected, but it was also fun to look back at what products I usually use. And today is finally the last one: hair care!

What's great about Olive Young is that not only skincare and makeup but also hair products come in such a wide variety, making it fun to choose. So, this time, I'm going to focus on organizing hair products I consistently use that are easy and comfortable to use daily.

Since it's truly the last one, I've only brought products that make me think, “I keep using this.” 🙂 Let's briefly introduce them one by one!

1. Tricell Day/Night Collagen Shampoo

This product is characterized by its shampoo being divided into two types: Day and Night. At first, I wondered, “Do I really need to use different shampoos?” but after trying it, the concept actually worked quite well.

The packaging is also very unique, making it subtly pretty when placed in the bathroom, and it's a product that offers the fun (?) of using Day and Night versions separately.

The Day shampoo has a refreshing, somewhat resort-like scent. On busy mornings, there are days when it's bothersome to even use conditioner. This shampoo alone leaves my hair feeling quite smooth, so it was great for when I was short on time. And when blow-drying, it feels like my hair naturally gains volume, making it a good fit for morning use.

Conversely, the Night shampoo has a slight cooling sensation when used, giving the feeling of tidying up a scalp that's been irritated all day outdoors. It feels like a refreshing cleanse combined with scalp care, making it the type of product that gives a more “healing feeling” during a shower.

I use both interchangeably, but personally, due to the scent and feel, I tend to reach for the Night shampoo a bit more often 🙂

2. Unove Deep Damage Hair Treatment EX

This is a treatment I consistently use about 2-3 times a week. After shampooing, I apply it to my hair and leave it on briefly while showering. After rinsing, my hair definitely feels softer, so I'm very satisfied with it.

It's the type that replenishes protein and nutrients to damaged hair, so my frizzy hair feels more organized, and there's less tangling. Even on days when I don't need intensive care, using it consistently just 2-3 times a week is enough to feel the effects. So, for those who want to 'easily get a hair pack feeling at home,' I'd lightly recommend this product.

3. L'Oréal Paris Total Repair 5 Repairing Damage Conditioner

Using conditioner after shampoo now feels almost essential. After cleansing the scalp and hair with shampoo and nourishing it with treatment, it's said that the final “sealing process” of tidying the hair with conditioner is important, so I've made sure to use it ever since.

Since the Tricell shampoo I introduced earlier doesn't have a separate conditioner, I use this product with it. Overall, it's very decent and has a good user experience. First, my hair definitely feels smoothly organized, and I liked that it finishes cleanly without tangles after rinsing. The scent also has a subtle melon-like note, which isn't overpowering, making it a comfortable scent for daily use, so I keep reaching for it.

Finishing with a routine of shampoo + treatment + conditioner makes my hair feel much more stable, so I recommend trying them together!

4. Kérastase Ciment Thermique

Here it is... the king of no-wash treatments 👑

This is a product I truly adore. I've been using it so consistently that I can't even remember how many tubes I've gone through. When applied before blow-drying, you can definitely feel a difference in your hair texture.

First, it has a heat protection function that reduces hair damage when using a hairdryer or curling iron, and at the same time, it tidies up damaged hair, making it soft and shiny. Also, the texture is a lightweight cream type, so it absorbs naturally without feeling greasy or heavy when applied, which is another advantage.

Honestly, the downside is... the price, haha. It's definitely more expensive compared to other products, but the effects are so visible that I keep using it.

So, I usually buy it at duty-free shops or stock up on special sets or double packs during Olive Young sales. Nowadays, Olive Young also offers good discounts and free gifts, so you don't necessarily have to go to duty-free anymore.

Although it's a bit pricey, if you're thinking, 'I want to properly try a no-wash treatment~,' I highly recommend giving this product a try at least once 🙂

5. L'Oréal Paris Hair Oil Essence

This product was an item I used really well before I started using the Kérastase product I'm currently using. I was happy to see it during the recent Olive Young sale, so I bought one again, haha. L'Oréal hair oils come in quite a variety of types and scents, and among them, I like the Airy Silk line the most.

First, the scent is very luxurious and subtly diffused, making it easy to use without feeling overwhelming. Most importantly, the texture is very light, so even when applied to hair, there's almost no heavy or greasy feeling. This makes it a really convenient type for daily use, and it feels just right for tidying hair + adding a subtle shine.

Depending on the situation, I sometimes:

  • Mix it with Ciment Thermique
  • Apply Ciment Thermique first before blow-drying, and then layer this on top for extra shine. They actually work quite well together.

And I saw that a new Nude Scent (skin scent feel) fragrance was released recently. I haven't tried it yet, but I'm curious, so I plan to try it next time, haha. The price is also reasonable, so I'd recommend this product to those looking for a lightweight hair oil that's easy to use.

6. Batiste Dry Shampoo

This is truly the very last, the ultimate last product in my Olive Young recommendations, haha.

I have bangs, and they tend to get greasy easily due to skincare or makeup applied to my forehead. So, I use this product both as a preventative measure and as an emergency fix when my bangs are already greasy. It quickly makes oily hair feel fresh and dry, so it's really useful when I can't wash my hair or need to go out in a hurry.

When using it, since it's a powder type, if you spray it too close, your hair might turn white. So, the key is to spray it from a slight distance. Then, lightly brush it off or tidy it with your hands, and the oil will be naturally absorbed, leaving your hair feeling much cleaner.

This is definitely a relatable item for anyone with bangs, and it also comes in a portable size, so if you carry one outside, you'll often have moments where you think, 'I'm glad I brought this...!'

How did you like my Olive Young recommended items series so far?

I started it lightly, thinking, “Let's organize them” when the sale began, but as I went through each one, I realized I use more products than I thought. It really feels like I've emptied out everything I use and organized it.

Olive Young truly has such a diverse range of categories and so many products that it's often hard to decide what to buy when you go there. I hope the products I introduced were of some help to you~

Nowadays, as K-beauty gains more popularity, even people from abroad make Olive Young a must-visit spot when they come to Korea. That just goes to show how many great products we have in our country, doesn't it?

In the future, if there are any products I want to try at Olive Young or new releases, I'll try them out one by one and bring you more casual review posts like this from time to time.

Thank you for reading this far! Please look forward to my other posts as well!
